A professional Network Operation Centre (NOC) is crucial for the industrial operation of any data center. NOC's must address the overall reliability of the operations while keeping the data center productive. The cost efficient delivery of quality TotalCloud services rely on the NOC.

TotalCloud uses a monitoring platform based on the open source project Nagios. Because of its modular design it is suitable for monitoring all aspects of the IT environment. TotalCloud develops plugins needed for any equipment or application that is not already available. Information regarding hardware performance and utilization, network load and applications running on the servers is handled by the automatic data collection and graphing capabilities of the TotalCloud monitoring platform.

The TotalCloud monitoring platform is also used for automatic SLA reporting, trend analysis and finding bottlenecks. Alerts can be specified on a per service and/or host basis and can be delivered via an alarm control panel, SMS, e-mail or automatic phone call. This all depends on the severity of the alarm. An escalation chain can also be specified, i.e. if alarm is not responded to or cleared within a specific time period it will escalate to the next specified set of recipients.
